    In reading the hell out of the internet, it seems like unity gain is best for what we have here in New England. Using a NMO mount on that bracket on the lower part of the windshield frame, is a unity antenna compromised because it is so low? It seems most of them are short, or even like that puck one.

    This is what I did for my MXT105. No drilling and if you want FM/AM just put in a splitter.

    I also used a Cooltech license plate mount for my CB. Again no drilling, uses the Sam's hole as the license plate light.

    I used my own version of the Cooltec on my Rubicon and had to put a tennis ball on my antenna. I had to use a 5' to get above the roofline properly and it slammed against the hard top awful offroad. Tennis ball made it quieter. Decided never to do that again lol.
