I am reading they are not what they used to be and to stay away from them.

That said, I have been looking at Deka, Odyssey. Anything else I should be considering? I am looking for the Yellow Top equivalent to the D34/78.

Thanks, Tim

Were in the living room watching Ultimate Adventure. The almost 4 year old has been trying for 20 minutes to unscrew the cover to his car to replace the batteries. Very patient, and not looking for any help. My 6 year old build a ramp to play with his Jeep (which used to be my toy jeep about 25 years ago), it's built out of steel, unlike plastic, it's the only way it's still alive.

Anyway, I just read the thread about Modeler's kid, and look forward to the days when I am helping my boys out in the garage get their first 4x4's ready prior to their driving days.

They spend a lot of time in the shop "helping" me, I can't wait to return the favor and really help them and teach them about auto mechanics.

OK, I am looking for a new grown up toy to spend some money on, and I am thinking about two but need some input. It will mainly be for mud (legal) and some trail and it will be trailered. The end product will have a V8 and 38's so I need to start somewhere.
1 - http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/1886613870.html
Responce to email I sent him - Off the top of my head I dont remember. I will check next time i go over to it. I have it a friends house where we 4wheel. Sorry about the wait. The lift is custom built. Has after market shocks. Its been awhile since i put it together.
Rust on the passenger side floor and a small spot on the drivers. Its old what can i say. In the mud? all i can say is fun fun fun. Im taking my time selling it so no rush. I took the hard top off. a friend of mine broke the front of it 3 days ago.
the trailer is not mine. Friend lets me use it to bring to his house and back. Going to clean it up in a day or two and will take more pics. Ill send them to you if you like. with the drivetrain and what not. Sorry once again for the wait.
Didnt think I would get people asking so soon. If you like and can send you my cell number. so you can call with anymore question.
Not to confident in his responce.
2 - http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/1885540879.html
Responces to emails I sent - The gears currently in the truck at 3.73's. Both motors are the 2.9L V6, but the extra one has the updated head design. There bed has some rust issues that I don't think will pass inspection and the windshield has a crack in the bottom corner of the passenger side a few inches long. The motor that is in it ticks. It runs alright, I have taken it on several trips around New England without any problems but the 88 2.9 liters are known for a poor head design that cracks when over heated. The motor always runs cool, but I am not the original owner and don't know if it has been over heated or not which is why I have the second engine for sale as well. Its a fun truck but I'm trying to cut back on the number of cars I have (currently 5) and save up for a down payment on a house. Let me know if your still interested.
Second - The tires are 33's because anything taller won't pass state inspection because it brings the frame over 20" off the ground (I've seen trucks in the area that are over that but they must know someone who can write them a sticker, or a place that doesn't care about that rule). You can easily fit much bigger tires on it. The motor, transfer case, and engine are all from a 1989 Bronco, and the axels are from a 1993 Explorer.
Sorry so long but wanted everybody to have all the info I have.
Thanks Chris

No special software, or really any training, is necessary. You just have to know how to use the forum.

Need to be able to be on during the day.

Send me a message if you want to be a moderator. We have a couple of people in mind already, but I wanted to put this out there in case there was someone that we didnt think would be interested, and is. Now, keep in mind, we know peoples post history. If you dont follow the rules, or cant string a sentence together without swears, etc, please dont waste my time by sending me a message.

Everyone needs to take a look at the rules again. All of them.

Rule...

Everyone needs to take a look at the rules again. All of them.

A number of people were banned today/last night, and more are very close.

Rule breaking will not be tolerated any more. In the past, we have given warning after warning. That will not be happening anymore. When this forum started, we had one rule, and it worked for a long time. As we progress and get larger, people start to forget what this site is about and who they are talking to. These arent anonymous people from all over the world. These are people that are within driving distance from you, and likely people that you have run into or will run into around town. Do you really want to make enemies so close to home?

It is very simple, play nice, keep things kid friendly, TREAD LIGHTLY, and just use common sense. This is a free forum, but it is a private forum. You can be banned at any time without any explanation.

The moderating team is small, and we try to keep an eye on the forums as much as we can. One of the things we rely on to keep things in check is other members. We cant know every illegal place in NH. If you see someone posting pictures or talking about illegal wheeling, use the "Report Post" button. Same goes to someone posting muddy pictures, or any other violation of forum rules. If you see something wrong, report it. This sends a message to all of the moderators, and one of us will look at it as soon as we get online.

One of the major issues that we are having trouble with is Treading Lightly. This is a simple concept. Click the banner at the top of the page and read up. If you cant follow these guidelines, this isnt the forum for you.

I have attached a couple of images. These arent meant to single anyone out. I have seen photos of people doing the same things time and time again. These were just the most recently posted. Doing this stuff is very wrong. Dont go around and obstacle, go over it. By going around, you widen the trail, increase erosion, damage plantlife, and create a mess. If you cant make it through, turn around, winch through, or have a buddy pull you through. Second photo, do not park off trail, pose on rocks that arent in the trail, etc. Stay on the road. By travelling off of the road, you are doing everything listed above and you are packing the dirt down. Even one tire track can compress soil enough so that nothing can grow there for a long time. Lack of plant life, as well as compressed topsoil can divert the flow of water, increasing the risk of erosion and runoff. There are a lot of problems with not following the guidelines of Tread Lightly. The places we have to drive are not infinite. If one gets closed, it is a big deal. As we press on, we need to keep roads open and make good impressions.

Just brought this home...

Its a 1992 Hudson 5 ton deckover. 16' flat deck with a 2' beavertail and steel ramps. Way above average condition. 4 brand new tires, brakes and bearings.

Paint is faded, but deck is perfect.

Needs a couple lights and a breakaway box.

Registered in Maine...of course! Cost me $40 for a 2 year tag. No sales tax had to be paid since my business is located out of state.

Purchase price....$700!! Woohoo!!

My jeep has something to ride on again.

Oh, and my shop dooryard is not always that big of a mess. I am having some site work done, and couldn't get stuff put away!
